Rainy day vacation – Melt stuff

What to do on vacation in the rain?  Melt stuff!

Glass fusing is a “warmglass” process of melting sheet and crushed glass in a kiln to produce light capturing art.  I teach an introductory class at Casa Gecko
Glass, a perfect activity for cooling a sun-burn or healing a surfing strain.  During an 1 ½-2 hours, you can  make a 5” dish or tea candle holder.

The  first kiln firing produces a flat plate.  That’s followed the next day by a lower temp. firing to “slump” the piece into a mold, thus resulting in a useful shape.  I provide the glass, cutting tools and heat.  C10,000/person ($20.00).

Be sure to schedule your class with at least
48 hours before your departure, to allow for kiln firing time.
