Here are some of the reviews left in our on-site guest book.

Wow, a week gone already?!  What a great place to relax and spend some family time.  The peace and quiet, the interesting wildlife, and the refreshing pool made it hard for us to actually leave Casa Papaya and go to the beach!  Loved the hammocks, the rocking chairs, the outdoor shower.  During the weekdays, the beaches are quiet and lovely. Really enjoyed Gusto Restaurant – great atmosphere and really high quality food.  Absolutely delicious, especially the Mahi Mahi and the Carbonara.

Thank-you Lavae and Steve for being such kind and helpful hosts; accommodating us on such short notice.  Our only disappointment is missing the chance to see your artwork others have praised, hope you enjoy your vacation!

It’s hard to find a place that’s both relaxing and inspiring – you’ve created that here. Thanks for sharing!

Casa Papaya worked beautifully for our family of 3.  We really enjoyed having our meals in the rancho and cooling off in the pool in the afternoon and evening.  The many outlets and excellent lighting (& fans) make it very user-friendly.  We enjoyed breakfast at a beach restaurant & liked the food at Pizza A-go-go . .. .and loved the ceviche at the ceviche soda on the way to Playa Carrillo – which is truly one of the most beautiful beaches in the world!  We had fun adventures on the “Pacific Coast Highway” north and south, crossing river, seeing a huge tribe of monkeys,
amazing secluded beaches.  This was a great home base with friendly, helpful hosts – thanks!

Another fantastic trip to Costa Rica. Casa Papaya was an amazing place to hang your hat for 2 few weeks.  Howler monkeys were our built-in alarm clocks as well as the early rising community surrounding this oasis.  Beaches were fabulous at both Samara and Playa Carrillo.  Saw some
crocs. at the river in Playa Carrillo.  Check out Popo’s for kayaking and surfing.  Very interesting guy.  Dinners at el Colibri in Carrillo were amazing (Argentinian).

Steve and Lavae have some great art that’s worth checking out.  Shopping in Samara is minimal in the
way of tourist trinkets.

Weather was hot and sunny everyday.

We have had a wonderful stay at Casa papaya.  Beautiful, relaxing place. Lavae and Steve are
wonderful hosts and Samara and Carrillo Beach was the best.  The view was amazing!

People are very nice and helpful.  Try the zipline tour from Wing Nuts Zip Line Tours, your host Sean Dibango (see on YouTube) & Gerald are great.  You will laugh a lot way up in the trees with the monkeys.

Great little clean local restaurant next to Carrillo Soccer field where you can meet Lewis for a horseback ride through the mountains and down to the beach. Try Tico Tours for a long boat ride and see the dolphins, snorkel, and catch fish.  I caught a black tuna.  My family and I were really
relaxed and enjoyed Casa Papaya with all its wonderful views and bugs.

Ask Lavae and Steve to see their cool artwork.  You will want to take some home with you, as
we did!

Amazing get-away.  The prefect house for our family of 4.  Upstairs balcony was a perfect place for our morning birding and we saw so much wildlife walking to and from the beach & town.  Pool and rancho are exceptional at the end of a busy day swimming, walking, and surfing (C&C  Surf – part of $ goes to charity and you get instruction then the board for the week!)  Pizza A Go-go was yummy as well as local casados but we ate in mostly.  As for our host and hostess – very friendly and helpful.  Our  son left his camera on shuttle from Monteverde and within 2 days Steve and Lavae helped us get it back to him – thank-you!!  As for the bugs – we found them very interesting and not too terribly invasive.

Pura vida!
